Welcome, My Name Is Milton B. Dodd.

First, I want to tell you that I’ve had successes beyond my wildest dreams…”The value of achievement lies in the act of achieving.”–Einstein.  Ialso want to say that what is summarized in this piece is factual to my knowledge, and only something better, not worse, is possible.  The  statements may seem disjointed and even affront you, but if you let it sink in that this store has this deal, then call them and they do, what can it hurt?  Do not be afraid to call your local store, again, what can it hurt.  Don’t claim it’s lies if you haven’t called, please.  I do want to apologize for the stilted delivery in this piece, it is far from eloquent, just a list.  Extremely Important:  If you don’t ask for the Milton D. Deal you won’t get it…good luck! Here goes:

I’m one of the lucky ones.  I was taught at a young age to read, to write, to draw, paint and play creatively.  I was encouraged in the arts.  I think that one of the secrets to my success has been music.  I began learning violin on a tiny violin around four years old.  By learning music, I taught myself rhythm in speech scansion for writing as well as hot and cool tones in painting.  When I listened to music and played, I found myself devising intricate scenes that the music of Tchaikovsky inspired.  Playing for audiences, even when performing a simple kindergarten piece called “Butterfly” was a chance for me to soak up the limelight and build self-confidence.Drawings 009

“A table, a chair, a bowl of fruit and a violin; what else does a man need to be happy?” –Einstein. 1879-1955

2.I want to play guitar again. 0531It’s been years since I picked it up. The problem is my two electric and one acoustic guitars are all broken. The yellow fender telecaster breaks strings every two seconds, my black and white Dean Martin has a string stuck in it and the acoustic is broken almost in two. Also my old pedal is stuck. And my drum is destroyed. Piano’s out of tune as always. Can’t find my hohner.

7.For Guitarists
Try something new:
Purchase a large cowry shell at Shells Shells on the pier at the beach. Use it as a pic for your guitar.
Two methods with the eye (the slit)twist on top of the strings to play tripplette etc.0431
Or
For a strong pluck, catch the string with the inside corner of the cowry shell eye.

The Baked Moon

Smelling in waves
the baked moon
fuming like
heat rippling off the road.

Nimbus cloud smoke
scattered embers stars,
a crunch of snow
the light enclosed
by trees and ice.

A solitary drum
beating rapidly
sending reverberations
over the barren winterland.

And the elves dancing
to it’s rythm.

One elf in mock parry
with an icicle in his hand.

The hunter who had been
coldly observing the moon
kneels with shotgun
scrambling his brain,
storming it to provide
a reason for the
elves’ celebration of
the season.

15. 0.41  http://www.softpile.com/Desktop/Screen_Savers/Review_30776_index.html   This is a screensaver of my favourite artist, J.W. Waterhouse…it’s free and it hasn’t run out yet (still).
“One of the major reasons why services and research for schizophrenia have been so neglected is that most people do not understand this disease.  The number of people who still believe that schizophrenia is a ‘split personality’, for example, is shockingly high….sevices for most individuals with schizphrenia in the United States, with few exceptions, vary from mediocre to abysmal.  It has been said that individuals with schizophrenia ‘are not falling between the cracks–they are lost in the ravines.’”—Surviving Schizophrenia by Torrey
Schizophrenia is characterized by a dissociation with reality wherein the patient can’t handle everyday life, has audient and visual hallucinations and shows the wrong emotion at critical times.  The majority of  schizophrenics like cigarettes, caffeine and/or alcohol and other drugs; it’s been said that being schizophrenic is like being on drugs 3 or 4 minutes every hour or two.  “Be aware that smoking and drinking coffee are among life’s most pleasurable activities for some individuals with schizophrenia.  The fact that this is so is sad, but that does not change the reality.  We should be careful about taking away such pleasures unless we are certain that the gains from doing so are worth it…Alcohol and street drug abuse among individuals with schizophrenia is a large and apparently growing problem…altogether 47 percent abused (alcohol or street drugs) one or both of these…Probably the most important (reason) is the same reason why individuals who do not have schizophrenia abuse alcohol and drugs–it makes them feel good…would be doing so if they had never become sick…other reasons…substance abuse provides a social network and something to do for individuals who are often socially isolated and bored.  There is also evidence that some individuals with schizophrenia are self-medicating with the alcohol or street drugs, resulting in decreased anxiety, decreased depression, and increased energy.  One recent study reported that alcohol decreased depression and improved sleep in individuals with schizophrenia, but it also increased auditory hallucinations and paranoid delusions.”–Torrey, Surviving Schizophrenia.
I have tardive dyskensia, a condition brought on by the medicine for schizophrenia.  It’s the same thing that Michael J. Fox has, but I have it to a lesser degree.  I move unintentionally and shake or throw my limbs out at times involuntarily.  Lithium, Risperdal and Seroquel make it happen but the benefits outway the downside.
